The Safe Six Project

We’re building six clean, secure homes so women and children fleeing domestic and honour-based abuse can choose safety, dignity, and a fresh start

Nina Aouilk is an activist, international speaker, and survivor who now uses her voice to protect women and children at risk of domestic abuse and honour-based violence.

Over ten years ago, Nina escaped an attempted murder and became homeless with her young son. From that experience, she rebuilt her life from nothing and made a promise that one day she would create the safe space she and her child never had.

That promise has become The Safe Six Project.

The Safe Six Project is creating six secure homes in Leicestershire for women and their children escaping abuse — a place where fear ends, safety begins, and dignity and compassion can be restored.

In just one year, following a viral video, Nina’s non-profit organisation, End Honour Killings Org, helped support more than 16,000 victims, many in partnership with police. The most common and urgent issue these victims faced was the lack of anywhere safe to go.

The Safe Six Project offers a vital solution. As temporary emergency housing, it will provide immediate refuge for six women and their children at a time — and continue supporting more families as spaces become available.

Project Funding Progress

Phase 1 has already been funded, securing the site and extensive planning permission.
Cost: £650,000

Phase 2 has been funded, covering design completion and initial planning requirements.
Cost: £70,000

Phase 3 is the final and most critical stage — converting the property into six fully equipped safe homes.
Estimated cost: £700,000

This includes contractor and project management costs, as well as essential work such as plastering, painting, plumbing, electrics, bathrooms, kitchens, and all necessary renovations to bring the homes to life.

Nina has invested personally, even selling her car to keep the project moving forward. However, Phase 3 cannot be completed without support.

A Call for Partners and Supporters

End Honour Killings Org is now seeking aligned partners, sponsors, and supporters who want to stand beside this mission and help bring these six safe homes into reality.

Your support will change real lives — six families at a time.
Six chances for freedom.
Six futures rebuilt.
Opportunities many never had.

This work is more than a project. It is a calling — to protect women and children before tragedy happens, and to create the world everyone deserves to live in.
